Ultrasound Skin Tightening
- The ONLY non-surgical medical device USFDA approved for face lifting, neck lifting and skin tightening
- Ideal for mild to moderate skin laxity and those who do not want/need surgery-‘a non-surgical facelift’
- NO downtime
- Non-invasive ultrasound technology is safe, used in medicine for decades
- Intense Focused Ultrasound (IFUS) delivers heat deeply under and into the skin leading to collagen stimulation at multiple levels
- Causes new collagen formation, improving the skin from the inside out, resulting in face lifting and tightening
- Specifically targets the Superficial Muscular-Aponeurotic System (SMAS) layer (the same deep layer used in surgical facelifts)
- IFUS sends heat below the skin surface leaving the epidermis unaffected, improving safety for all skin types, especially darker skin
- Ultrasound imaging allows us to accurately visualise tissue layers during treatment and ensures precise placement of energy for maximum benefit and safety
What areas can be treated?
- Brow, lateral orbit and infraorbital (USFDA approved)
- Cheek and jowls (off label)
- Upper neck (USFDA approved)
- Lower neck (off label)
- Chest and décolletage (off label)
- Upper arm / Abdomen (off label)
What else do I need to know?
- IFUS uses ultrasound, a tried and tested, safe technology
- Only 1 treatment is normally required
- Each treatment session lasts around 30-60 minutes, depending on the area treated
- Results can be seen instantly, further improvement is gradually seen over the next 2-3 months
- There is NO downtime, normal activities can be resumed immediately after
- Face lifting usually lasts for a year or more, yearly treatments may slow down the rate of skin aging
- Mild discomfort, pain and a heating sensation can be felt during treatment. Medication can be given to reduce the discomfort
- Swelling and redness of the skin can sometimes be seen after treatment. This usually resolves in 1-2 hours
- Other less common side effects can include: bruising, superficial wheals, headache, tingling and numbness. These usually resolve in a few days to weeks
